425.00 For real?

If you are on social media, you have probably seen these jeans from Nordstrom’s.  They

are $425.00 for a pair of jeans. The best part? They make it look like you were actually working! For more than a car payment, one is able to make it look like you were outside working in the mud, without getting dirty on your face, arms, hands, or anywhere.

I am not sure how to feel about this? For starters, I may live in a very rural area of Minnesota.  I love being outside.  I don’t mind getting my hands dirty.  All through high school, I worked on a dairy farm.  The majority of my classmates worked retail.  There were a few “farm kids” who worked on the family farm.  I did not grow up on a farm, but it was perfect for me.

Many projects were built with my dad’s guidance watching over us.  He taught me how to use almost all power tools, plaster a wall, build a fence, remodel a house.  It is something that I find pride in being able to create something from scratch. Or remodel a house into one that is functional without destroying the character.

The photo below is of the pond, waterfall, and fence that my father oversaw.  See, he was in the final stages of cancer, so he was unable to help (physically).  Yet, he was there to 379584_516964965018526_137257206_nlend his guidance and wisdom on how to some things. By the end of the day, my pants were far more “dirty” than Nordstroms.  They might have been ripped.  My hands were blistered and calloused.  I was tired. Muscles hurt that I did not know I had.  But I build a beautiful backyard sanctuary from scratch with my bare hands.

So if one wants to save some money, you can send me your clean, non-dirty jeans, and  will gladly make them look like you were working all day for $300.00.  that is a saving of $100!

What is boggling my mind is that people would rather pay to make it look like they worked, instead of actually working.  How does this make sense? If you want to work, I have a lot of weeds that need to be pulled, and another fence built!

What do you think of this new style?
